Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection

As a static blog site, Technical Boy does not store any user data directly. As a matter of fact, Technical Boy does not use or have a database to store data with (Technical Boy is powered by Jekyll, so all the sites files are static). Technical Boy does, however, use a variety of services that may collect some general user and activity data.

2. Third Party Services that Collect Data

Technical boy uses the following services from third-party providers:

Google Analytics

In order to keep track of general engagement and activity data, Technical Boy uses Google Analytics. Analytics doesn’t provide Technical Boy with any personally identifying data, only some demographic, location (country and city) and engagement (among other) statistics of the site’s users.

Facebook Like, Share and Comments

The “Like” and “Share” buttons on the links section and the comment section below every post are powered by the Facebook Social Plugins. To make a comment, like or share the Technical Boy Facebook page you must have an active Facebook account.

Although Facebook displays the the name and profile picture of those who comment in the plugin (and therefore in the Technical Boy site), all data is actually stored and protected by Facebook. Facebook may share data in the form of likes, shares and comments made on the platform, as well as usage analytics with Technical Boy.

Share Buttons

Technical Boy allows the sharing of every blog post through the use of the Social Media Share Buttons under every post. Using said buttons will allow you to share each blog post to your Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn accounts. When using these buttons you may be able to configure what groups of people you share the posts with, which also depends on your privacy settings for each social platform. Technical Boy has no access or way to see these settings.

Technical Boy blog posts and pages may contain links to third-party and external sites. Clicking on an external link will take you to the respective third-party site, at which point Technical Boy has no control over the way your data is used. It is strongly advised that you review each external site’s own privacy policy to understand how each site uses and protects your data.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Technical Boy reserves the right to make changes to the privacy policy as it sees fit. Since this blog currently has no e-mail subscription list, any changes to the privacy policy will be shared through a blog post.
